There’s only one Gleneagles - A genuine 5 star resort, with a huge range of activities available beyond the golf. These include, Shooting, Riding, Falconry, Trout fishing, Off Road Driving, Hair Salon, Spa treatment, Country club facilities - tennis, mountain bikes, the pool, Jacuzzi, hot tubs, sauna, Turkish baths, gym, squash, croquet and pitch and putt.
Day 2 - Play Gleneagles Kings Course
The Gleneagles King's course is blessed with surroundings of awe inspiring beauty reflecting a truly highland landscape. The Kings and Queens courses were both designed by James Braid (a five times Open winner). The Kings Course is the former home to the Scottish Open and is regarded by many as one of the finest golf resorts in the world. This moorland course has a length of 6471 yards, a Par of 70 and Standard Scratch of 70. The Queens Course is shorter with a length of 5965 yards, Par 68 and Standard Scratch of 70. Although shorter, it possesses many challenges with water hazards on almost every hole.
Day 3 - Play Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course
Host venue for the 2014 Ryder Cup Matches.
Gleneagles PGA Centenary - created by Jack Nicklaus, is a modern classic.
Even for a champion and acclaimed golf architect like Nicklaus, The PGA Centenary Course was a challenge. It had to be a great course and, set as it is in the heart of Scotland, the country that gave the world golf, Nicklaus described the course as "The finest parcel of land in the world I have ever been given to work with".
Day 4 - Travel to the Home of Golf
Travel to St Andrews and check into the Old Course hotel x 4 nights
Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa - Set in a spectacular location beside the infamous 17th Road Hole. One of Scotland’s leading resort hotels possesses quiet elegance and unparalleled service. There are extensive Spa facilities. The Championship Dukes Course which was designed by 5 times Open winner Peter Thomson is owned by the hotel and located 3 miles inland from St Andrews.
Day 5 - Play Kingsbarns
Kingsbarns is only 6 miles from St. Andrews and is well worth the phenomenal hype it has received. Having opened in July 2000 it is now being mentioned in the same breath as Turnberry, Dornoch and Cruden Bay. With its true links turf, contoured rolling fairways and majestic vistas of the sea this course is destined to be a classic. The sea plays an integral role in the course design and the sandy dunes also feature prominently in enhancing the course landscape.
Day 6 - Play St Andrews New Course
St. Andrews Links - New Course - This is a fine traditional links which runs adjacent to the Old and many consider it more difficult. However, if accuracy is not your strong point adjacent fairways on the back nine can provide sanctuary for wayward drives, a welcomed feature of several of St Andrews' links. It is a British Amateur Championship venue and over 100 years old - so not so new! Standard Scratch 73.
Day 7 - Play St Andrews Castle Course
you will either love it or hate it
St Andrews Castle Course - Nineteenth holes all over St. Andrews must absolutely love the new Castle Course, because golfers who come into their pub after 18 holes there surely have an extra few pints as they debate the polarizing design by architect David McLay Kidd
Day 8 - time flies when you are enjoying yourself - depart home
After breakfast depart for the airport.
