Championship Tour

Day 1 - Arrive for the most famous Open venue of all

Arrive in Scotland where you will be warmly welcomed by a EGS Representative who will assist with the collection of your rental vehicle. Travel to and stay at Queens Hotel, Dundee x 3 nights.

Built in 1878, the Queens Hotel is one of the last privately owned hotels in Dundee. Ideally situated for the golf and just minutes from the shopping centre, university, theatre and bustling West End bars and restaurants.

Day 2 - Play Panmure

Panmure - The club was formed in 1845. Yet another Open Championship qualifying course. The initial flat 3 holes give way to some classic contoured terrain which makes for a memorable golf course. The par 4 sixth in particular is as testing a golf hole as you will play in Scotland. Hogan secretly practised here before proceeding to win the Open at Carnoustie in 1953. Beware of the gorse!

Day 3 - Play Kingsbarns

Kingsbarns is only 6 miles from St. Andrews and is well worth the phenomenal hype it has received. Having opened in July 2000 it is now being mentioned in the same breath as Turnberry, Dornoch and Cruden Bay. With its true links turf, contoured rolling fairways and majestic vistas of the sea this course is destined to be a classic. The sea plays an integral role in the course design and the sandy dunes also feature prominently in enhancing the course landscape.

Day 4 - Visit the Home of Golf

Watch penultimate day of Open Championship

St. Andrews Links - Old Course In the course of its 27 Opens, St Andrews has had a habit of throwing up winners who are the best of their generation. Tiger Woods, for example, produced performances in 2000 and 2005 that left him comfortably clear of the field, with victories by eight and five shots respectively. During the 2000 Open, Woods’ 19 under-par total surpassed the mark set by Nick Faldo ten years previously, when at the height of his powers the Englishman shot 18 under par to win by five.

Day 5 - The final day of the Championship

Travel to and watch final day of Open Championship

Golf has been played over the linksland at St Andrews for well over half a millennium, and, while new tees have been built, the Old Course remains essentially unchanged from the days of Old Tom Morris in the mid-to-late 19th century. The double fairways, double greens and natural bunkering combine to produce a set of strategic demands on the golfer which are unmatched and completely unique.

Day 6 - Time flies when your enjoying yourself
